Overview
Upon logging in to Capdesk, shareholders will be directed to the 'Portfolio' landing page where they can view the details of any equity they hold. Stakeholders that only hold equity awards, such as options, will be directed to the 'Dashboard' page.
The 'Current Holdings' menu shows the company a stakeholder owns equity in and the details of this equity. The share numbers, share class, votes & amount invested can also be viewed. If you have added a public valuation, a value estimate will also display.
What can shareholders view?
Shareholders can access the company’s page and details by clicking on the hyperlinked company name. Shareholders can access different areas of Capdesk through the left-hand side menu. The information they can view will depend on the settings you have enabled, choosing from the below options:
- Cap Table
- Funding rounds (within Shares area)
- Share classes (within Shares area)
- Incentive Pool
- Share Grants (Growth Shares)
- Portfolio
- News
- Documents
What can grantholders view?
Optionholders will also have access to the dashboard page, which offers a detailed view of their grants and a visualisation of their vesting schedule.
Company administrators can preview employees' dashboards via the cap table page. To do so, on the Cap table page > click the action button (...) next to a stakeholder > Preview dashboard.
On this page, grantholders can view their:
- Securities distribution
- Vesting schedule
- Estimated return of grants and shares (if applicable)
- Your grants
- Grant timeline
- Equity calculator
On the Portfolio page, grantholders will not have access to the company’s page as shareholders do. They can only click on the option grant which provides more information about their equity. The details of this will be shown on the right-hand side and include details of the grant, vesting schedule, valuations, any notes/documents and transactions.
Accessing the Employee Equity Calculator
The equity calculator allows employees to be able to calculate future scenarios and possible payouts for their equity holdings from their Capdesk dashboard. Employees can enter a custom share price to see how it affects the estimated return on their grants, and reset to the current share value when they’re done.
To enable the equity calculator for your employees, the following settings must be enabled:
- Enable sharing valuation data with employees: Go to Settings > Settings and Add-ons > Public Portfolio Settings > make sure the check box is ticked on for “Show public company valuations in investor portfolio and on employee grants?"
- You also need to have registered a Public Valuation. You can do so under Valuations > Company Valuations > Add Valuation -> select 'Public valuation' as the type.
Once these settings are enabled, you will be able to preview the employee equity calculator using the preview dashboard feature outlined above.
If a grantholder has been added as a company administrator, they will still be able to view all company information when logging in. |
