Round modelling is a report you can use to model a new financing by entering a pre-money valuation, adding projected investments, analyzing the effect on share price and company ownership and modeling the adjustments to the incentive pool.

Inputs
The report gives you a view of the fully diluted cap table pre-investment, post-investment and an investment section.
To model the new round, you can add data to the following fields:
- Pre-money valuation (cell D3): is the aggregate pre-money valuation, rather than the price paid per share.
-
Pool adjustment method (cell D4): adjust the pool size for post-investment size - this requires enabling iterative calculations to properly work. If using:
- Windows: File → Options → Formulas → Calculation options → Enable iterative calculation
- Mac: press Excel → Preferences → Calculation → Use iterative calculation.
- Adjust to (cell D5): input a percentage value.
- <<New Investor>> [C20]: Input the name of the new investor.
- Investment [P20]: Amount invested by the new investor.
Post Investment Cap Table
The Post Investment section gives you an overview of how your fully diluted cap table will behave after the new investments have taken place.
Add More Investors
- Click on one of the new stakeholders cells.
- Right-click to insert a new line
- Enter the name of the new investor and the amount they invested.
